Tennessee flips 4-star EDGE Hezekiah Harris from Auburn
Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers continue to make waves on the recruiting trail, and this time, they’ve flipped four-star EDGE Hezekiah Harris from Auburn. Coming off an exciting flip of five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys from LSU, Tennessee is proving that “flip season” is in full swing.
Harris, ranked No. 99 in the Rivals Industry Ranking, had been a longtime Auburn commit before making the switch to Tennessee. But this flip didn’t come overnight. The Vols have been working hard on Harris for quite some time.
“Tennessee has never slowed down how they recruited me,” Harris told Rivals. “The coaches always made me feel wanted. They have recruited me hard, and they have always made me feel like a top guy.”
Harris’ deep connection with Tennessee’s staff made a huge impact throughout his recruitment.
The Vols’ persistence and family-oriented culture played a key role in his decision. Harris made multiple visits to Tennessee, including an official visit in June. He was on campus for the 865 Live event just a few weeks prior.
His connection to Knoxville is centered around the culture.
“It is about family. That is the vibe at Tennessee. It is a very family-oriented place. The coaches have always made me feel comfortable.”

Much of Tennessee’s success in this recruitment can be attributed to Levorn Harbin — better known as Coach Chop — who has been instrumental in building a strong relationship with Harris.
“We have a great relationship,” Harris said. “Coach Chop has always been honest with me. He has always been real about Tennessee and how they want me.”
The Vols are coming off an impressive win over Syracuse on Saturday, and after two major flips, the Vols are cooking on the recruiting trail heading into the fall. Harris is Tennessee’s 25th commitment this cycle.
