Tim Tebow Named First-Team Quarterback on AP’s All-Time All-America List
The Associated Press has revealed its All-Time All-America football team, honoring the greatest college football players from the past 100 years of AP All-America selections. Leading the list at quarterback is Florida legend Tim Tebow, who was chosen as the first-team signal caller.
Tebow, a two-time national champion and the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, was selected ahead of Texas star Vince Young for the spot. During his career at Florida, Tebow became one of the most dominant dual-threat quarterbacks in college football history, finishing with 145 total touchdowns and setting several Southeastern Conference records.
The AP panel, made up of 12 college football writers, based selections only on a player’s college achievements, not professional careers. The first-team roster includes some of the sport’s most iconic names: running backs Barry Sanders and Herschel Walker, wide receivers Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald, and defensive standouts like Charles Woodson and Deion Sanders.
The Big Ten led all conferences with seven players on the first team, while the SEC followed with five. Programs like Ohio State and Pittsburgh each placed three players on the list.
For Tebow, the honor adds to a legacy that already includes a Heisman, multiple All-America nods, and an enduring reputation as one of college football’s most influential players.
